*Amazon Prime Video’s new romantic comedy, “You’re Cordially Invited,” brings together an all-star cast—starring Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon—for a wedding showdown filled with humor, heart, and a touch of chaos.
Actor and comedian Vinny Thomas plays a key role in the film, which follows two families clashing as they navigate wedding mayhem. Directed by Nicholas Stoller, here’s the official synopsis:
“When two weddings are accidentally booked on the same day at the same venue, each bridal party is challenged with preserving their family’s special moment while making the most of the unanticipated tight quarters. In a hilarious battle of determination and grit, the father of the bride (Ferrell) and sister of the other bride (Witherspoon) chaotically go head-to-head as they stop at nothing to uphold an unforgettable celebration for their loved ones.”
The cast includes Geraldine Viswanathan, Meredith Hagner, Jimmy Tatro, Stony Blyden, Leanne Morgan, Jack McBrayer, Rory Scovel, Keyla Monterroso Kejia, Ramona Young, Celia Weston and Fortune Feimster.

We caught up with Thomas to discuss his character, the wedding turmoil, and what it was like sharing the screen with Hollywood legends Will and Reese.
“It was so crazy being on set with so many people who I grew up watching… and they’re very funny people, but seeing them do it– professionally in front of you, you’re like, wow, they’re really good at what they do…everyone, top to bottom, extraordinary,” Thomas said of the cast.
He also reflected on how “You’re Cordially Invited” mirrors today’s modern wedding culture.
“I think it reflects modern wedding day culture, first of all, because it’s unnecessarily exorbitant,” Vinny said.
“You people are spending way too much money on your wedding. And if no one has told you this yet, let me be the first, stop spending all that money on your wedding,” he continued. “You get a folding table, you get a dress from Goodwill, and you have a wedding for five to ten dollars. What you people are doing is insane. Let’s start there,” Thomas jokingly added.
“It also reflects modern wedding culture because it feels very fraught. I think when you create a big event surrounding something like this, it’s predisposed to becoming a reality show,” the “Platonic” actor explained.

Vinny said the film depicts “the kind of drama that evolves when you want an event to be so perfect and tight and well-planned and beautiful.
He added, “… there’s going to be weird fallout between people, maybe even worse so when the location is double-booked.”
Vinny plays Davey, the assistant to Witherspoon’s Margot. He describes his character as “delightfully codependent, addicted to his work” and “truly addicted to kissing ass.” Check out what else he had to say about the role in the clip below.
