*Todd Bridges is officially moving forward with ending his marriage to Bettijo B. Hirschi after three years together. The “Diff’rnt Strokes” actor filed for divorce on March 31, stating that the relationship could no longer be repaired, Us Magazine reports.
In court documents, Bridges explained that they made efforts to “resolve [their] problems” but the “marriage is broken beyond repair.” The filing follows the couple’s earlier announcement in January that they had decided to separate.
At the time of their split, Bridges shared a statement reflecting on the decision. “After much prayer and reflection, my spouse and I have made the difficult decision to separate,” he said. “This was not an easy choice, and it comes with a heavy heart, but also with love and gratitude for the life we shared.”
Details from the filing indicate that Bridges and Hirschi are currently living apart and do not share any community property. Bridges requested to retain ownership of real estate he acquired prior to the marriage and asked that neither party receive spousal support.

The documents also note that the pair have no shared debt and previously signed a written agreement outlining how property, financial responsibilities, and support would be handled. Their separation appears to have been structured with clear terms already in place.
The former couple first connected in 2022 through a mutual friend and married later that same year. During an appearance on “The Tamron Hall Show,” Hirschi shared that she and Bridges initially connected over their faith.
“What really struck me about Todd is that we have a very similar idea of who God is and what he’s like and how he interacts with us,” Hirschi told Hall. “We hear [God] similarly. I feel like God speaks to me directly too. I remember telling my parents, ‘He has a very similar understanding of God that feels very much like the faith that I have.’”
Bridges was previously married to Dori Smith, with whom he has two children, while Hirschi has four children from a previous relationship.
