*Prime Video has revealed the official trailer for “Malice,” a dark and suspenseful new series starring David Duchovny, Carice van Houten, and Jack Whitehall. Created by James Wood (“Rev”), the six-episode psychological thriller explores power, privilege, and revenge amid the sun-soaked beauty of Greece. All six episodes will debut exclusively on Prime Video on November 14 across more than 240 countries and territories.
Jack Whitehall, best known for his comedic work, described the role as a bold new step. “This role is unlike anything I’ve ever done before. Moving from comedy to playing a character so deliciously dark and complex was exhilarating; Adam is the kind of character who makes you question everything – he’s charming and funny one moment and absolutely chilling the next. What I love about Malice is how it constantly keeps you guessing – just when you think you know who’s right and who’s wrong, everything shifts, and you’re left questioning everyone’s motives.”
The series is directed by Mike Barker (“Fargo,” “The Handmaid’s Tale”) and Leonora Lonsdale (“Dangerous Liaisons,” “The Pale Horse”). “Malice” is a co-production between Expectation and Tailspin Films, with Tim Hincks serving as Executive Producer for Expectation, and Imogen Cooper and James Wood executive producing for Tailspin.
At the heart of “Malice” is Adam, portrayed by Whitehall, a charming tutor who insinuates himself into the wealthy Tanner family’s life during their holiday in Greece. When their nanny suddenly becomes ill, Adam finds a way into their London home—setting in motion a series of events that reveal his true motives.
As Adam’s manipulative nature unfolds, he begins to pit Jamie Tanner (David Duchovny) and Nat (Carice van Houten) against one another, while secretly plotting the family’s downfall. The deeper those around him probe into his mysterious past, the greater the danger becomes. When Jamie starts to suspect that Adam may be the cause of their family’s unraveling, the line between truth and deception blurs beyond repair.
“Malice” promises a riveting revenge tale where buried secrets refuse to stay hidden and one haunting question lingers: how do you protect your family from the enemy within?
