*Nicki Minaj is reportedly not on the guest list for the 2026 Met Gala, sources claim, signaling a shift in her relationship with Hollywood’s elite.
The Grammy-winning rapper has allegedly been “shut out” following politically charged public appearances and outspoken support of President Trump, The Sun reports.
According to an insider, “Nicki’s invitations didn’t just slow down — they vanished. Hollywood stopped returning her calls. This isn’t subtle anymore. She’s been shut out.” The source added, “There’s an invisible wall around her now. And no one wants to be seen opening the gate.”
The tipping point came during Minaj’s December 21, 2025 appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in Phoenix. Onstage, she praised Trump and Vice President JD Vance, addressed her previous criticism of Trump with, “It’s ok to change your mind,” and criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom while speaking against transgender healthcare for children.

Her ongoing feud with Roc Nation, centered on JAY-Z, CEO Desiree Perez, also contributed to her Hollywood reputation. Sources described her as “radioactive right now. And in this town, that’s the kiss of death.”
“Between the politics and the Roc Nation war, nobody wants to touch this,” the insider told Naughty But Nice‘s Rob Shuter. “There’s no formal ban — just a collective step back.”
The 2026 Met Gala, scheduled for May 4, will be co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams alongside longtime chair Anna Wintour. This year’s theme, “Costume Art,” curated by Andrew Bolton, explores the relationship between clothing and the human body. According to Bolton, “Rather than prioritizing fashion’s visuality… ‘Costume Art’ privileges its materiality and the indivisible connection between our bodies and the clothes we wear.”
The gala will precede the exhibition of the same name, running from May 10, 2026, through January 10, 2027, in The Met’s new Condé M. Nast Galleries. Anthony Vaccarello will lead the host committee alongside Zoë Kravitz, joined by figures including Doja Cat, Sam Smith, Lena Dunham, and Misty Copeland.
