*Paramount Pictures has unveiled a new trailer for “The Running Man,” offering another glimpse at director Edgar Wright’s highly anticipated adaptation of Stephen King’s 1982 novel. The action-packed black comedy is slated for release on November 14, 2025, in theaters, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, Premium Large Format, and IMAX.
The film takes place in a near-future society where “The Running Man is the top-rated show on television, a deadly competition where contestants, known as Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public and each day bringing a greater cash reward.” Glen Powell stars as Ben Richards, a working-class man who risks everything to save his daughter by joining the lethal reality show.

As shown in the new footage, Richards is drawn into the spectacle by the show’s charismatic but cold-hearted producer, Dan Killian, played by Josh Brolin. “Desperate to save his sick daughter, working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is convinced by the show’s charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), to enter the game as a last resort.” His growing defiance and resilience make him a symbol of resistance, as “Ben’s defiance, instincts, and grit turn him into an unexpected fan favorite—and a threat to the entire system.”
Alongside Powell and Brolin, the ensemble cast includes William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, Daniel Ezra, Jayme Lawson, Sean Hayes, and Colman Domingo. The film is produced by Simon Kinberg, Nira Park, and Wright, with executive producers George Linder, James Biddle, Rachael Prior, Audrey Chon, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, and Andrew Lary.
Based on the novel originally published under King’s pseudonym Richard Bachman, “The Running Man” marks the story’s second cinematic adaptation following the 1987 version. With Edgar Wright directing, co-writing, and producing, the new trailer teases a modern and kinetic vision of a dystopian world where survival and entertainment collide. Watch the clip above.
