*The trailer for Melania Trump’s authorized documentary, “Melania,” dropped on Wednesday (12-17-25), shared by the former first lady on her social media platform. The film is scheduled for an exclusive theatrical premiere worldwide on January 30, 2026.
Set during the 20 days leading up to her transition into the White House, the documentary follows Trump as she manages inauguration preparations, navigates the complexities of relocating her family to the Nation’s Capital, and oversees her new responsibilities in the East Wing. The synopsis notes the film includes “critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments.”
Trump described the concept for the documentary as originating shortly after her husband’s reelection campaign. “A first of its kind, capturing the 20 days of my life before the inauguration, 20 intense days of transformation from private citizen to first lady, balancing my business, my philanthropy, fostering the future, building my East Wing team and the White House staff, and, of course, caring for my family,” she said while accepting Fox Nation’s “Patriot of the Year” award, according to CNN.
According to PEOPLE, in a press release, Trump emphasized the personal nature of the project, describing it as “history … in motion.” She added that audiences would gain “a private, unfiltered look as I navigate family, business, and philanthropy on my remarkable journey to becoming First Lady of the United States of America.”

The film is directed by Brett Ratner, marking his first major project since 2017. Amazon Prime acquired distribution rights for a reported $40 million. Trump serves as executive producer under a multi-million-dollar agreement with Amazon MGM, granting her editorial oversight of the documentary.
