Adding to Gates’ complex personal life, Brittany Renner recently confirmed the end of their short-lived marriage. Speaking on REAL 92.3 LA, Renner revealed, “We got married April 6 and divorced May 28,” a union lasting just 52 days.
The 33-year-old “Basketball Wives” star explained that Islamic marital customs guided the process, noting, “There is a 90 day waiting period in Islam, where you have 90 days to see if you’re pregnant because then he would be responsible.”

Renner described the 90-day period as a time for reflection, saying, “So, what I will say is Islam has made my life easier.”
She viewed the brief marriage as a chance for personal growth, adding, “Honestly, I don’t think anybody gets married to not stay married. So this is a nice 90 day reset, just focusing on myself.”
