*Kenan Thompson and Lamorne Morris are bringing a hit podcast to the big screen with a new action comedy adapted from “Unwanted.” The QCode series, which rose to the top of fiction podcast charts following its 2021 release, is now being developed as a feature film.
According to Variety, Morris co-created the original podcast alongside his longtime creative collaborator Kyle Shevrin, with the pair serving as both writers and directors on the series. The premise centers on two reckless individuals who pursue a $1 million bounty by attempting to track down an escaped convicted murderer, only to realize they are dangerously out of their depth.
Richie Keen, whose directing resume includes “Ghosts,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” and “Fist Fight,” has been chosen to direct the movie. Filming is expected to get underway this summer.

Morris and Shevrin handled the screenplay and will produce the project under their 11 Below production banner. Thompson is producing with John Ryan Jr. through their Artists For Artists company, commonly referred to as AFA.
Several additional producers have also signed on, including Carter Swan, Billy Magnussen, and QCode’s Rob Herting, Ben Curtis, and Nick Shanks. Magnussen co-starred opposite Morris in the original podcast. Jonathan Davino is attached as executive producer.
Morris first shared news of the developing project during an episode of “The Lamorning After,” the podcast he co-hosts with Shevrin. Thompson joined the episode as a guest when the announcement was made. Watch the conversation below.
With two well-known comedic talents now attached and a proven podcast property serving as its foundation, “Unwanted” is shaping up to be a notable addition to the action comedy space as it moves toward a summer production start.
