Pete Hegseth racist speech draws fire after calling Black troops “debris”
*Now, this is how you tell it like it t-i-s ’tis. Podcaster Jesse Dollermore is slamming Pete Hegseth for what he calls a “racist, unhinged speech” at the Northeast Indiana Defense Summit.
According to Dollermore, the Pete Hegseth racist speech included a disturbing metaphor comparing Black service members, women and LGBTQ troops to “debris” that needs to be cleared from the U.S. military.
The phrase immediately sparked outrage online, with many accusing the Defense Secretary of using coded white supremacist rhetoric under the guise of national defense.
“Debris” becomes a racist dog whistle in Hegseth’s military speech
During his address, Hegseth said America must “clear out the debris” to rebuild a stronger military—then immediately launched into attacks on diversity, equity and inclusion programs. Dollermore says there’s no question who that debris refers to: Black Americans and other marginalized service members.
“Pete Hegseth called Black people debris. There’s no spinning that,” Dollermore said. “That’s the language of dehumanization.”

Speech compared to Nazi rhetoric, invokes 1939 and Hitler’s rise
Hegseth shocked many by comparing the U.S. in 2025 to 1939—a year Adolf Hitler began his invasions and plotted genocide. Dollermore warned that such parallels are not accidental, calling the Pete Hegseth racist speech “an ideological threat” wrapped in patriotism.
“The idea of purging so-called debris from our military sounds a lot like what fascists have done in history,” he said.
Hegseth’s anti-DEI rant sparks broader backlash online
In addition to the debris comment, Hegseth dismissed DEI offices, “identity months,” and what he called “dudes in dresses.” He claimed the focus should be on warfighting, lethality and discipline—not diversity.
Dollermore responded by saying the Pete Hegseth racist speech was a dog whistle campaign against Black troops and other minorities, using “common sense” and “readiness” as cover for exclusion.

Critics say Hegseth is pushing white nationalist military agenda
Dollermore and others say the Pete Hegseth racist speech is part of a larger push to reshape the U.S. military in the image of white nationalism. He accused Hegseth of promoting an agenda where only white, male, heterosexual Christians are welcome in uniform.
“This isn’t just political theater,” Dollermore warned. “This is fascism 101: vilify minorities, normalize exclusion, and do it while claiming to protect the country.”
Public figures call out hypocrisy and low military credentials
Critics also took aim at Hegseth’s qualifications, noting he never rose above the rank of major while in the Army. Despite his TV presence, many view him as more pundit than leader.
YouTube commenters didn’t hold back, calling him a “dangerous clown” and accusing him of hiding behind military patriotism to push racist talking points.
YouTube commenters react to Pete Hegseth racist speech
Following Dollermore’s viral response, social media users lit up the comments with outrage over the Pete Hegseth racist speech. Many were stunned by the boldness of the language and what they saw as open bigotry from a high-ranking official.
“Hegseth just reeks of pathetic insecurity.”
“A working drunk, a weekend TV station studio clown, who never got past the rank of major, is now the head of our entire military. What a nightmare.”
“Pete Hegseth called Black people debris. Say it louder. He said the quiet part out loud.”
Why Jesse Dollermore says this speech must not be ignored
Dollermore believes the Pete Hegseth racist speech is a warning sign of what happens when power meets prejudice. He says silence now would give cover to a dangerous ideology taking hold in U.S. institutions.
“This isn’t about politics,” he said. “It’s about protecting the dignity of every American who wears the uniform—especially the ones being told they’re ‘debris.’”
