*Jennifer Lopez’s first husband, Ojani Noa, has attributed his 1998 divorce from the singer to Sean “Diddy” Combs.
In a recent appearance on Despierta America, Noa discussed their brief 11-month marriage and the factors that contributed to its end.
“When Sony came and paid her the millions she got, there was Puffy [Combs], who was going to be one of the producers of several tracks on the first album On The 6,” Noa said in Spanish via an English translation, per OK Magazine. “That’s where the deception, the lies, the separation started.”
He added, “I was in Los Angeles opening my restaurant and she was between Miami and New York working on the album.”
“When I could, I would go to be with her. There, in that distance, in that separation, was where the deception started,” he explained.

Noa revealed that his career took a hit after Diddy took JLo under his wing.
“I would ask Jennifer, ‘What did I do to you so that you have taken me to court, you have accused me, you have lied, you have created false things about me and you have called several companies to throw me out and different television networks not to give me work?'” he shared.
“Why, if I have not done anything to you? Let her tell the truth, let her tell everything that happened,” Noa continued
After divorcing Noa in 1998, Lopez and Diddy dated from 1999-2001. The year they began dating she was involved in a nightclub shooting with the disgraced music producer. We reported earlier that one of the shooting victims, Natania Reuben, has for years asserted that it was Diddy, not former rapper Shyne, who shot her during an altercation between the rap mogul and Club New York patron Matthew Allen, resulting in injuries to three individuals, including herself.
Lopez was arrested and released at the time, while Diddy was ultimately acquitted of all charges. Former Bad By artist Shyne, however, served an eight-year prison sentence. In 2011, Combs settled civil suits with the victims, paying over $2.3 million.
Diddy is currently being held in federal custody in Brooklyn after being indicted in September on three criminal charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty. If convicted, Combs faces up to life in prison.
