*A fresh adaptation of “Masters of the Universe” brings the beloved franchise back to life with Nicholas Galitzine taking on the legendary role of He-Man. The teaser trailer for the film dropped, giving fans a glimpse of the epic battles and fantasy adventure to come. The movie will be released exclusively in theaters on June 5, 2026. Watch the clip below.
As PEOPLE reports, Galitzine portrays Prince Adam, who was evacuated from Eternia during childhood and raised on Earth as Adam Glenn. His mundane existence as an office worker takes a dramatic turn upon finding the Sword of Power, which transports him back to his homeworld now controlled by the villainous Skeletor. Joining forces with Teela and Duncan, he must reclaim his heritage and liberate Eternia from oppression.
The ensemble includes Jared Leto portraying Skeletor, while Camila Mendes appears as Teela, and Idris Elba takes on Duncan/Man-At-Arms. Alison Brie plays Evil-Lyn, with Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm/Fisto, and Kristin Wiig providing voice work for Roboto.

The physical transformation required for the superhero role proved demanding for Galitzine. In December 2025, Galitzine told PEOPLE how bulking up for his He-Man role was “the hardest thing” he’s ever done, noting it was “a daily challenge.”
He continued, “But there is something incredibly empowering about committing to something so heavily.” The actor from “Mary & George” acknowledged, “I think it would be insincere for me to say that it was easy.”
Travis Knight directs this new vision, bringing his experience from “Kubo and the Two Strings” and “Bumblebee” to the project. The franchise began with a 1982 toy collection and the 1983 animated program “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe,” with the 1987 Dolph Lundgren film currently streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
