*Marvel fans are eagerly speculating about who will take up the iconic role of Black Panther in the MCU as “Black Panther 3” moves forward in development. The character’s future has been uncertain since the passing of Chadwick Boseman in 2020, and Marvel has reportedly explored ways to introduce a new hero without directly replacing T’Challa.
Rumors suggest that British actor Aaron Pierre has met with Marvel Studios to discuss the possibility of becoming the next Black Panther, Heroic Hollywood reports. It is believed that other candidates are also being considered. The plan may involve a “soft recast” through the multiverse, allowing the character to return in a fresh context without disregarding Boseman’s legacy.
Whichever actor takes on the role, whether it is Pierre, Damson Idris, or another performer, the debut is expected to occur in the upcoming “Avengers: Secret Wars,” aligning with prior reports about Marvel’s timeline for the character.

Idris has also emerged as a fan favorite and leading contender to succeed Letitia Wright’s Shuri as Wakanda’s protector. Betting odds currently place Idris at 3/1, reflecting strong industry confidence in his chances. Idris recently addressed the speculation in an interview on the TODAY Show, responding playfully while maintaining an air of mystery. When the interviewer asked, “Would you say yes?” to the role, the actor said, “Yes.”
As Marvel Studios progresses with its plans for the next Black Panther, anticipation continues to build over who will inherit the mantle and carry forward the legacy of one of the MCU’s most beloved characters.
