Inside the home were a mother and her young daughter, while the husband monitored the situation remotely through the Ring app. What started as a strange interaction quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.

The footage shows a man identified as Jason Thomas Nichols approaching the front door and asking questions about who was inside. Moments later, his tone shifts. He repeatedly demands to know where the child is, asking, “Where’s your daughter?” and “Who’s in there with you?”
When the homeowner tells him to leave, Nichols becomes aggressive.
He begins kicking and pounding on the front door, shouting threats and attempting to force entry. At one point, he strikes the Ring camera and rips it from the wall.

Authorities say Nichols eventually gained access to the home through a sliding glass door while the woman and child were still inside.
