*Former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman learned the hard way that his talents did not extend to kicking. During a Fox NFL on-set demonstration, Edelman attempted a field goal but misfired directly into Michael Strahan’s face.
Talk Sport reports that the segment featured the entire broadcasting crew, including Strahan, Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Jay Glazer, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, and Curt Menefee. Edelman, playing the role of kicker without socks, launched a weak strike, and the ball smacked Strahan directly in the face.
The impact caused Strahan to stagger before steadying himself, as Glazer joked that he needed to enter “concussion protocol.” Strahan admitted that the football hit him “in the eyeball.” Watch the moment via the clip below.
Meanwhile, Strahan’s departure from Good Morning America (GMA) surprised fans and colleagues earlier this year. The former NFL star reportedly declined a $20 million contract, fueling speculation about his motives.
According to an insider, Strahan is eager to explore new ventures in entertainment and business. His final emotional appearance was on February 1. Co-host Robin Roberts praised him, saying, “Michael has been such a huge part of the GMA family. We’re going to miss his energy, his humor, and his big heart. But we know this isn’t farewell—it’s just ‘see you later.’”
A source noted, “He’s had so many great years at GMA, but this next chapter is one he is ready for,” highlighting his desire to pursue fresh challenges.
