*Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is expanding his nonfiction audio portfolio with a new podcast series dedicated to the early years of DMX.
Developed through G-Unit Audio in partnership with Narratively and iHeartPodcasts, “Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX” is scheduled to launch later this year and will be available across podcast platforms, Deadline reports.
The series, hosted by Jadakiss, centers on the period before DMX became a household name, focusing instead on his coming-of-age journey in Yonkers, New York. Across its first season, the show documents the environment that shaped him as an artist, drawing from memories of people who were present during those formative years. Participants include relatives, longtime friends, fellow artists, competitors, and influential figures from the culture.

Jackson described the project as an effort to present a fuller picture of DMX beyond his public success. “DMX’s story is bigger than the music — it’s about survival, faith, pain, and purpose,” shared Jackson. “Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX gives people a chance to understand where X came from, before the fame, through the voices of the people who were really there. This is the story that shaped the legend.”
Executive producers Bruce Miller and Justin Baez bring personal history to the production, having grown up in Yonkers with close ties to DMX and his family. According to a release, their “lived connection to the city — and to DMX’s impact on it — grounds the series in the community that shaped him long before fame.” Miller emphasized the lasting influence of both the artist and his hometown, stating, “DMX’s story is inseparable from Yonkers, and his legacy is the lifeblood of hip hop.”
The series arrives following DMX’s death in 2021 at age 50 from a heart attack.
