*Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has moved closer to establishing a major production hub in Louisiana after the state finalized an agreement backing his G-Unit Studios expansion in Shreveport. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the deal outlines a wide-ranging redevelopment plan that blends entertainment infrastructure with public space.
State officials confirmed that Jackson’s company will commit $124 million toward renovating Stageworks, upgrading a former Millennium Studios campus, and constructing a dome-style immersive venue alongside a green space park. Louisiana Economic Development announced the state will contribute $50 million in performance-based funding to support infrastructure tied to the project.
Jackson framed the investment as both an economic and creative opportunity for the region. “By reinvesting in downtown Shreveport and upgrading existing assets to create state-of-the-art entertainment and production facilities, we are creating jobs, inspiring hope, attracting new productions, and giving the entire entertainment industry a reason to build their futures right here,” he said.
Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the state’s enthusiasm for the development. He said, “we’re thrilled to welcome yet another project that sees the strength, talent and potential of this region.”
The announcement builds on the groundwork Jackson laid two years ago when he first presented plans for G-Unit Studios in Shreveport. Momentum continued last year with the city approving a long-term lease for the Stageworks property.
G-Unit Studios has steadily expanded its footprint across the entertainment industry, producing content for multiple studios while branching into nonfiction, audio, film, and television projects. In 2023, the company strengthened its position further by signing a development deal with Fox Entertainment.
With financing now secured and state support in place, the Shreveport project represents the most significant step yet toward turning Jackson’s long-discussed Louisiana production base into a reality.
