*Ben Affleck is back behind the ledger—and the trigger—in “The Accountant 2,” the long-awaited sequel to the 2016 sleeper hit.
Directed by Gavin O’Connor and produced by Affleck alongside Lynette Howell Taylor and Mark Williams, the film reunites the original team for a gripping continuation of Christian Wolff’s story. Amazon MGM Studios has released a new trailer, offering fans a pulse-pounding glimpse of what’s in store.
Affleck reprises his role as Christian Wolff, the enigmatic math savant with a lethal skillset. When a former associate is found dead under suspicious circumstances, leaving behind a chilling message—“find the accountant”—Wolff is drawn into a new and even deadlier conspiracy. To uncover the truth, he turns to his estranged brother Brax (Jon Bernthal), whose return promises both explosive action and emotional reckoning.
Joining the brothers is U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), back to lend her expertise and resources as they chase leads through a shadowy world of assassins and corruption. Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, and J.K. Simmons round out the stellar cast.

The film debuts nationwide on April 25. For eager fans, Amazon MGM Studios is offering exclusive early screenings on April 15 in honor of Tax Day—a fitting date for a movie centered on a forensic accountant with a dark side.
Tickets are available now at Accountant2Movie.com, with the studio encouraging audiences to share excitement online using the hashtag #Accountant2.
As for the future of the franchise, O’Connor has hinted that “The Accountant 2” may not be the last we see of Wolff and Brax. In an interview with Vanity Fair, O’Connor shared his long-standing ideas for a trilogy, saying, “I have a lot of thoughts about what to do with the third. I’ve been thinking about it for a lot of years.”
Affleck echoed the cautious optimism. “I’m keenly aware of the fact that you kind of have to earn another movie,” he said. “The worst pitfall is to store a bunch of your good ideas for the next installment. If you don’t create an interest demand the first time out there, you’re just going to be playing that to an empty house.”
“The Accountant 2” looks poised to deliver the suspense, heart, and action fans loved in the original—this time with even higher stakes.
