*DC and Warner Bros. have released the first trailer for “Batman: Knightfall,” offering fans an early look at the upcoming animated adaptation of one of the Dark Knight’s most celebrated comic book storylines. Watch the clip above.
The preview arrives as the studios prepare to launch a three-part movie event based on the landmark “Batman: Knightfall” comic arc. The first installment, “Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall,” made its debut at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival and is scheduled for release later this year.
The trailer showcases Batman facing one of the greatest challenges of his crime-fighting career after Bane unleashes chaos across Gotham City. According to the official synopsis, the villain frees every inmate from Arkham Asylum, forcing Batman to confront his entire rogues gallery while pushing himself to his physical and mental limits.

Per the news release, the animated trilogy adapts the iconic DC comic event created by writers Doug Moench, Chuck Dixon, Alan Grant, Dennis O’Neil, Peter David, and Jo Duffy, alongside artists Jim Aparo, Graham Nolan, Norm Breyfogle, and Jim Balent.
Jeff Wamester directs the first chapter from a screenplay by Jeremy Adams. Rick Morales serves as supervising producer, with Jim Krieg and Kimberly S. Moreau producing. Sam Register and Michael Uslan executive produce the project.
The voice cast features Anson Mount as Bruce Wayne and Batman, Michael Mando as Bane and Pablo Schreiber as Jean-Paul Valley, also known as Azrael.
“Batman: Knightfall” marks the latest addition to Warner Bros. Animation’s expanding DC slate. The studio currently produces a range of animated projects based on DC characters, including “Batman: Caped Crusader,” “Creature Commandos,” “My Adventures with Superman,” and “Teen Titans Go!”
A release date for “Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall” has not yet been announced.
