The performance will place 50 Cent among an impressive roster of artists, including Charlie Puth, Chappell Roan, Demi Lovato, Maren Morris, Mariah Carey, OneRepublic, Pitbull, and Post Malone. ABC and Dick Clark Productions revealed that this year’s broadcast will be the longest in the show’s history, adding an extra hour and a half of programming. The announcement comes after 50 Cent dropped his P Diddy documentary, now streaming on Netflix. The project examines the rise and downfall of the music mogul, highlighting never-before-seen footage and testimonies from those who knew Combs at various points in his career.
The series revisits Diddy’s influence at Bad Boy Entertainment, where he helped launch artists such as The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, and Danity Kane. It also addresses troubling allegations, including claims raised in Casandra Ventura’s 2023 lawsuit. 50 Cent praised the contributors who shared their experiences, saying, “I’m grateful to everyone who came forward and trusted us with their stories.”
