*YouTube TV is extending a notable discount aimed at preventing subscriber departures now that football season has wrapped. Select current users can shave $20 off their monthly bill for a limited window, with the duration ranging from two to four months based on account-specific factors, Cord Cutters reports.
The timing is no coincidence. With the NFL and college football campaigns in the rearview mirror, many viewers who subscribe primarily for live sports begin weighing whether to cancel. However, the deal is not available to everyone. YouTube TV appears to be using criteria such as subscription length, viewing activity, and recent promotional usage to determine who qualifies. Users who recently accepted other discounts or introductory pricing may be excluded. This approach lets the platform zero in on those most at risk of leaving rather than cutting prices across its entire subscriber base.
To check for the offer, users must go to the YouTube TV website using a computer instead of the mobile app. After clicking the profile image in the top right corner, subscribers should head to Settings, then select Manage beneath the “Your Plan” heading. If the promotion is available, it will appear on that page.

In a separate development, YouTube TV is also unveiling five new genre-focused subscription packages that let viewers customize their plans around the content they actually watch. The tiers span categories like sports, news, entertainment, and family programming.
The pricing structure offers options at every level: the Sports Plan costs $64.99, Sports + News is $71.99, Sports + News + Entertainment sits at $77.99, the Entertainment Plan runs $54.99, and News + Entertainment + Family comes to $69.99. Every new tier falls below YouTube TV’s current standard rate of roughly $83 per month.
