*Tyrese Gibson recently took to X to share a nearly 30-minute video, visibly emotional as he described a dramatic shift in his financial burdens.
“I woke up this morning with a heart full of gratitude,” he said, attributing his relief to divine intervention. The singer and actor expressed joy over what he described as a near-miraculous resolution to his challenges.
Gibson credited his faith for the unexpected turnaround in his situation. “I have been having some intimate and beautiful exchanges and moments with God,” he said. “And I know it’s him. I know it’s him because it’s impossible that something I thought was on the brink of destruction got turned around,” Gibson added.

The “Fast & Furious” star revealed that looming legal fees, particularly those tied to his ex-wife, Samantha Gibson, had been a significant source of stress.
“I’m not the reason I didn’t file for bankruptcy just last week,” he continued. “I’m not the reason that some way, somehow, all of these legal fees that have stressed me out, all of the legal fees that I owe my ex, somehow, just showed up. I’m good, but I’m not that good.” Court documents indicate he owed Samantha $492,651.99 for her legal team’s fees.
As Complex reports, legal battles with his ex-wife, whose marriage to Gibson ended in 2020, have been ongoing. Samantha filed a motion in July to hold Gibson in contempt, alleging he made no effort to pay the owed amount despite having the means. Previous contempt rulings against him were issued on May 4, 2023, Oct. 3, 2023, and Oct. 4, 2024, according to the filing.
Reflecting on his divorce, Gibson recalled the pain of his ex-wife’s departure. “These are the stairs that I got married on before my ex-wife left me,” he said in a social media rant last year. “She packed up all 50 boxes right here in the foyer with six or seven of her friends and she covered up the Ring camera with a COVID mask at the time. This was August 2020 and she left me and she never came back. Cry me a river, right?”
The emotional toll of the divorce was evident when Gibson spoke on the show Club Shay Shay last year. “I was devastated and crushed,” he said about the heartbreak of his marriage’s end. His recent video, however, paints a picture of renewed hope and gratitude.
