*Tyrese Gibson’s legal battle over child support continues, as his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, has filed a motion to dismiss his lawsuit seeking reduced payments.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Samantha claims the singer and actor still owes her $111,955 in back child support for their 5-year-old daughter, Soraya. Samantha, who was granted primary custody in 2023, was awarded $10,690 per month in child support. She alleges that Tyrese has only paid the full amount three times and has been held in willful contempt by the court on three separate occasions.
“He has only paid the full monthly amount three times,” Samantha stated in her filing, noting that Tyrese was even jailed briefly last year in Fulton County after failing to make payments.
In her April 14 motion, Samantha opposed Tyrese’s request to reduce child support payments, noting his ongoing appeal of the original order to the Georgia Supreme Court. She argues that the pending appeal strips the lower court of authority to modify the order.
Samantha’s legal team is now asking the judge to dismiss Tyrese’s current lawsuit because he has failed to comply with the court-ordered payments. The judge has not yet ruled on the motion.

Earlier in the dispute, Gibson faced a lien on his 18,000-square-foot Atlanta mansion, filed by his ex-wife’s legal team. The Gleklen Law Firm claimed he owed $217,231 in court-ordered legal fees related to their case, as reported by Yahoo.
The lien was filed on September 17, shortly after Gibson was briefly jailed for allegedly failing to pay child support. According to TMZ, he was also expected to pay an additional $73,000, which included $7,500 in attorney fees for Samantha. At the time, Gibson stated he intended to resolve the outstanding amounts promptly.
