*President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to New York Magazine during an Oval Office discussion about his health, threatening litigation if the outlet publishes negative coverage.
According to Fox News, correspondent Ben Terris documented the exchange in an article titled “The Superhuman President’: A good-faith attempt to ascertain the truth about Donald Trump’s health“. The interview brought together Trump, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, Captain Sean Barbabella serving as the president’s lead physician, and physician assistant Colonel James Jones. Trump opened the conversation with an explicit caution about unfavorable reporting.
“I hate to waste a lot of time on this, but if you’re going to write a bad story about my health, I’m going to sue the a– off of New York Magazine,” Trump stated, according to the article. He suggested negative health stories might become acceptable years down the line when public interest wanes.
When Ben Terris arrived at the Oval Office in December to talk to Donald Trump about his health, the president was standing next to a couple of men clutching pieces of paper labeled TALKING POINTS.

The piece addressed recent media attention surrounding Trump’s bruised hand and broader questions about his physical condition. Administration officials featured in the article uniformly praised the president’s stamina and wellness. White House communications director Steven Cheung described Trump working past 9:30 PM regularly, admitting exhaustion while attempting to match the president’s pace.
During the interview, Trump solicited medical confirmation from his physicians present. “Is my health perfect?” he asked. Colonel Jones affirmed: “Your health is excellent, sir.”
Cheung later provided an official statement characterizing Trump as being “in perfect physical and cognitive health,” while cautioning that media organizations creating false narratives “should plan on getting their a—- sued off.”
