*BET has announced the launch of the BET Creator Studio, a new initiative aimed at giving culture-focused creators the resources and reach of the BET brand. The Studio’s flagship series, “THE JASON LEE SHOW,” is set to premiere Wednesday, April 8, at 8:01 AM ET/7:01 AM CT on BET.com and BET’s official YouTube channel.
Jason Lee, a media entrepreneur and CEO of Hollywood Unlocked, will anchor the series. Episodes will drop weekly and provide a mix of behind-the-scenes glimpses into Lee’s daily life alongside in-depth conversations with celebrity guests. The show seeks to reveal the untold stories and figures shaping contemporary culture while illustrating the strategy and effort behind building influence across multiple fields, per the news release.
“I’ve been in rooms most people will never get into and now I’m bringing audiences with me,” Lee said. “This show isn’t just about entertainment. It’s about the power of culture: how it’s built, how it’s kept, and how it’s used. BET gives us the platform to tell that story at the scale it deserves.”

The BET Creator Studio is designed to serve as a hub for Black creators, providing both emerging and established talent with tools, infrastructure, and distribution channels. The platform will support a variety of formats, including podcasts, digital series, short-form content, and social-first campaigns, with the goal of meeting audiences where they are while helping shape the future of Black storytelling.
“Black creators have always driven culture, now we’re giving them the infrastructure to own it,” said Orchid Richardson, SVP of digital & social at BET. “The BET Creator Studio is where authentic storytelling meets serious distribution, and that combination is incredibly powerful.”
Lee brings extensive experience in media and leadership, from founding Hollywood Unlocked to serving as Vice Mayor of Stockton. He has also launched initiatives like the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards and secured a $12.4 million grant for the Hollywood Cares Foundation, reflecting his commitment to cultural influence and community development.
Through its portfolio of brands, including BET, BET+, BET HER, and VH1, BET reaches audiences across streaming, digital, live events, and global platforms, providing culturally resonant content that highlights the creativity, impact, and diversity of the Black experience.
