*A gripping new thriller is set to arrive this fall as the trailer for “The Astronaut” drops, showcasing a story that mixes space exploration with chilling suspense.
Kate Mara stars as Sam Walker, an astronaut who crash-lands off the Atlantic coast, only to find that her return to Earth may be just the beginning of her ordeal. Under the watch of General William Harris, portrayed by Laurence Fishburne, Sam is placed in quarantine for rehabilitation and testing. The trailer teases unsettling events that lead her to suspect, “something extraterrestrial has followed her home.”
The film is written and directed by Jess Varley and produced by Brad Fuller, Eric B. Fleischman, Chris Abernathy, and Cameron Fuller. Alongside Mara and Fishburne, the cast includes Gabriel Luna, Ivana Milicevic, Macy Gray, and introduces Scarlett Holmes.
Scheduled for a limited release on Friday, October 17, 2025, “The Astronaut” will be screened in select theaters across major markets. Fans are encouraged to check Fandango or Atom Tickets for showtimes, as limited releases may also become available for digital rental or purchase on platforms such as Prime Video and Apple TV.
