*The Secret Service has revealed it is investigating Tesla CEO Elon Musk‘s recent X post that questioned why Donald Trump kept facing assassination attempts yet, on the other hand, no one is trying to assassinate President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris.
An X user had said, “Why they want to kill Donald Trump?”
To this, Musk responded, “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala.”
Musk is the owner of X, formerly Twitter. He later deleted his response when he noticed it was becoming controversial. He retorted that people did just not understand his sense of humor, Business Insider reported via MSN News.
“Well, one lesson I’ve learned is that just because I say something to a group and they laugh doesn’t mean it’s going to be all that hilarious as a post on ?,” Musk stated.

Even the White House was rattled by Musk’s remark.
“Violence should only be condemned, never encouraged or joked about,” read a White House statement, according to ABC News. “This rhetoric is irresponsible.”
The Secret Service was expected to release information related to Musk’s post over the weekend but declined to do so, citing “enforcement proceedings.”
Bloomberg News had filed a Freedom of Information Act to see what the Secret Service’s response was to Musk’s controversial reply to an X user.
However, the Secret Service spokesperson, Melissa McKenzie, only clarified the agency was aware of Musk’s message.
“The Secret Service is aware of the social media post made by Elon Musk and as a matter of practice, we do not comment on matters involving protective intelligence,” McKenzie said in a statement. “We can say, however, that the Secret Service investigates all threats related to our protectees.”
So far, there have been two public attempts on Trump’s life this year. During a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July, Trump was nearly killed when an assassin’s bullet hit him over his right ear. He was whisked away with blood on his ear. On Sunday, Trump was at his golf course playing when law-enforcement officials spotted a man with a gun lurking in the woods. The suspect, who took off, was later captured and identified as Ryan Routh. He faces two federal gun charges.
Trump’s allies, such as Musk, have pointed out that while Trump keeps facing assassination attempts, leading Democrats (his rivals, that is) seem to be at peace with everyone.
