
One Spoon of Chocolate Gets Tribeca World Premiere Date
*RZA is back in the director’s chair with his latest feature, “One Spoon of Chocolate” set to premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival. The world premiere will take place on June 8 at 8 p.m. at the OKX Theater at BMCC TPAC in New York City.
The film is written and directed by RZA and produced by RZA Productions, 36 Cinema, and Xen Diagram Media. After years in development, the drama is ready to make its big-screen debut in one of the world’s top film festivals.
Star-Studded Cast Brings Small-Town Drama to Life
The film stars Shameik Moore as a former military convict searching for peace in a quiet Southern town. Instead, he finds unexpected romance and deep-rooted danger. Moore is joined by Paris Jackson, RJ Cyler, and Blair Underwood in key roles.
The cast also includes Harry Goodwins, Johnell Young, Michael Harney, Rockmond Dunbar, E’myri Crutchfield, and Grammy-winning country artist Jason Isbell. Each star brings intensity and emotional depth to this gripping story of redemption and risk.
Multiple Screenings Set During Tribeca Festival
Along with the June 8 premiere, several other screenings are scheduled. Press and industry attendees can view the film on June 9 at 1 p.m. at AMC-04. Public screenings will follow on June 9 at 9:15 p.m. at VEC-06 and again on June 12 at 8 p.m. at VEC-07.

RZA Returns to Directing With His Boldest Film Yet
RZA made his directorial debut with “The Man with the Iron Fists” and later released “Love Beats Rhymes.” Now, “One Spoon of Chocolate” marks his fourth film and most personal work to date.
“It’s a pure delight that I get to share my 4th and boldest film with their amazing audience,” said RZA. “New York, let’s bring da motherf-in ruckus. Bong Bong.”
Behind the Scenes: Production and Creative Team
The film was shot in Atlanta, Georgia, with the support of the state’s film initiatives. RZA wrote the script and worked closely with producer Paul Hall, known for “White Men Can’t Jump” and “Shaft.” Executive producers include Talani Diggs, Mitchell Divine Diggs, and Joe Genier.
RZA is represented by John Garvey at CAA and attorney Joe M. Carlone. The collaboration between 36 Cinema and Xen Diagram Media helped bring the vision to life with cinematic detail and emotional power.
