*Retired NFL star Richard Sherman experienced a harrowing birthday this year when his home in King County, Washington, was invaded by armed robbers.
Sherman took to social media on March 31 to reveal the traumatic event, stating, “House being robbed at gun point with my family in it isn’t what anyone wants for a birthday gift.”
Sherman praised his wife, Ashley Moss, who was home with their two children during the break-in, calling it a “scary situation that my wife handled masterfully.” He added that she “kept my kids safe” amid the chaos.
Sherman shared photos and videos of the suspects, hoping to uncover their identities for local authorities. Footage captured the intruders smashing through a window, with one throwing an object—later identified as a stolen phone—toward a security camera.
According to Sherman, the thieves didn’t stop at his residence. “They got 5 homes from what the police told us,” he reported. Authorities have launched an investigation, though no arrests have been made as of yet.

As Vibe reports, Sherman joins a growing list of at least nine professional athletes targeted by burglars in recent months. High-profile cases include Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, and Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis. The surge in such crimes prompted the FBI to issue an official warning to athletes about the rising threat of home invasions.
