*STARZ has released the teaser trailer for the fifth and final season of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” officially setting the premiere for Friday, June 12.
As the series heads into its final chapter, Kanan Stark’s transformation appears complete. Portrayed by Mekai Curtis, Kanan has spent four seasons grappling with ambition, betrayal and the complicated legacy of his mother, Raq. Once determined to earn his place within her empire, he ultimately uncovered painful truths that forced him to confront both her deception and his own identity. Emerging from that reckoning more hardened and self-assured, Kanan now stands fully outside his mother’s shadow — but not without unfinished business.
Season Five signals a decisive shift. According to the news release, Kanan steps fully into his ruthlessness, aligning himself with Southside figure Breeze, played by Shameik Moore. Their partnership positions Kanan deeper within the Queens drug trade and sets off consequences that threaten every major player. The Thomas family faces mounting instability, Unique continues fighting to maintain his foothold, and outside forces, including the Mafia, maneuver strategically behind the scenes. The stakes are higher than ever as alliances strain and power dynamics shift.

The series remains one of STARZ’s strongest performers. Season Four averaged 8 million multiplatform viewers per episode, and the show has generated more than 21 billion minutes viewed to date.
“Power Book III: Raising Kanan” is the second installment in the expanded “Power” Universe franchise. Sascha Penn serves as creator, showrunner and executive producer for the final season. New episodes will roll out weekly on Fridays across the STARZ app and all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms. Watch the teaser trailer above.
All previous seasons are currently available to stream ahead of the June premiere.
