*Rachel Lindsay is embracing a new chapter of life after fulfilling her spousal support payments to ex-husband Bryan Abasolo.
The former Bachelorette told PEOPLE she had “just finished paying off” her ex and described the moment as feeling like “I just gave birth to a baby or I just let go.”
Rachel and Bryan first connected during season 13 of “The Bachelorette” in 2017 and married in 2019. Abasolo initiated divorce proceedings in January 2024, requesting monthly spousal support and claiming he required financial assistance to secure separate housing. Throughout the process, he remained in their shared Los Angeles residence, where Lindsay covered the majority of household expenses. According to RadarOnline, Abasolo stated in court documents, “Neither of us wants to continue to live together.”
PEOPLE reports that Lindsay radiated excitement at Ray Ban’s Pre-Grammy celebration, saying, “We are free. We are happy. Can you see the glow?” She added that her focus is now on herself: “Everything is for me now, at this point, so I don’t know what I’m gonna do, but I’m in a place to [work toward] building it.” She also revealed she is “writing a book” that may explore her marriage and divorce.
On her podcast, Higher Learning with Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay, the reality star explained that she “had to make concessions that I didn’t necessarily want to do” during the divorce process but emphasized, “My peace of mind is priceless at the end of the day.”
The divorce also reshaped her perspective on marriage. Lindsay stated she “wouldn’t get married without a prenup” and admitted, “I don’t even, like, fathom” whether she would marry again, noting that the experience “changed my whole perspective on everything.”
