*Just six months after his release from federal prison, Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty is facing new legal allegations. The Department of Justice announced Thursday that Shiesty and fellow rapper Big30 allegedly kidnapped and robbed several individuals at gunpoint inside a Dallas recording studio, with Gucci Mane among the alleged victims, according to TMZ.
Federal officials say the incident took place on January 10, when Shiesty allegedly invited three music industry professionals to the studio under the premise of discussing a contract. According to the complaint, one of the alleged victims was forced at gunpoint to sign paperwork releasing him from a recording agreement. Authorities also claim the group took high-value items from those present, including Rolex watches, jewelry, and cash.
Gucci Mane was not publicly identified by authorities as one of the victims, though the connection to him is notable. Shiesty was formerly signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 label, and one of the chains stolen during the alleged robbery bore the number “1017.”

Eight of the nine suspects named in the federal complaint were taken into custody Wednesday, including Shiesty, born Lontrell Williams Jr. Arrests were carried out across Memphis, Nashville, and Dallas.
Shiesty’s arrest represents a sharp reversal of fortune for the artist, who walked free in October 2025 after completing a federal firearms sentence. That conviction traced back to a 2020 hotel shooting in Florida, with Shiesty entering a guilty plea in January 2022. Sentencing followed in April of that year, with a federal judge handing down a 63-month term. Prosecutors agreed to withdraw three other pending charges, one of which carried the possibility of a life sentence, as part of the plea arrangement.
Shiesty was 22 and faced a maximum of 20 years when he was sentenced. With new federal charges now looming, another lengthy prison term is once again a very real possibility.
