‘Percy Jackson Season 2’ Brings Bolder Energy and Star Power
*The second season of Disney+’s “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” dives straight into the action. This time, the story adapts Rick Riordan’s “The Sea of Monsters,” as Percy and friends journey into the Bermuda Triangle to save Camp Half-Blood.
EURweb’s Kenny Pettis Jr. caught up with Aryan Simhadri (Grover), Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse), and Charlie Bushnell (Luke) to chat about what’s changed on set—and how working alongside celebrity guest stars shaped their experience.
Returning to Set With Confidence and Purpose
Coming back for a second season brought new energy to the cast. Simhadri described the shift as a journey from uncertainty to self-assurance. After spending an entire season with their characters, the actors had a deeper understanding of their roles.
“I think it was newfound confidence in all of us,” Simhadri said. “I was just worried about like, does everyone like me? This time I was more worried about the craft.”

New Guest Stars Raise the Bar, Not Egos
Season two introduces several high-profile guest stars to the series, and the younger cast took notice. But instead of intimidation, the vibe was one of mutual respect.
“All of the big-name guest stars met us, like as people,” Goodjohn shared. “They were very invested in wanting to know how we work on set.” That human connection elevated the experience for everyone involved.
‘Stranger Things’ vs. Camp Half-Blood? Cast Picks Sides
During a fun crossover question, the cast was asked how their group would fare in Hawkins against Vecna from “Stranger Things.” The consensus? It would be a brutal matchup.
“If you cross it. Everybody’s dying. We’re all gone,” Goodjohn joked. She gave Percy some credit but made it clear: the worlds operate on very different rules. Mind control vs. ancient combat? That’s a tough call.
