Pierce, 47, posted on Instagram to address the event, which involved him being found asleep in his vehicle. This response has sparked concern among fans, who are urging him to receive support amid signs of substance abuse issues.
On October 10, Pierce uploaded an image of himself amid the heavy Los Angeles traffic. His caption explained, “Imagine being stuck in standstill traffic for 45 mins and falling asleep.” He went on to note, “I took this picture that night because I never been in standstill traffic for this long.”

The California Highway Patrol detained Pierce earlier that week after spotting his Range Rover stationary on the freeway during a nearby accident clearance. As detailed in their report, “When officers approached, they found the driver, later identified as Paul Pierce, asleep at the wheel.” Further, “Officers noted signs of alcohol impairment and conducted a DUI investigation,” according to the CHP statement reported by The Blast.
Pierce’s traffic-based excuse has intensified online discussions, with many expressing alarm over his well-being. Comments poured in like “Bro, you need help,” and “Bro, stop it. You were sippin and smokin.” Others added remarks such as “Maybe don’t drink and drive you clown.”
