*Paul Pierce is not playing in the NBA anymore, but he definitely has a knack for bringing out people’s emotions when giving his view on things
And he shows no signs of falling back as he weighed in on Black NBA players date white women. During a recent episode of “The Truth After Dark With Paul & Azar,” the podcast he co-hosts with Azar Farideh, the topic was brought up when they played a game of basketball. According to Madame Noire, the rules of the game involved them asking each other any question. The kicker is that whoever chooses not to answer the question must take a shot.
“Why do you feel like men, especially NBA players get with white women?” Farideh asked Pierce on the podcast’s Feb. 24 episode. “Is it because they are ‘easy’?”
“I honestly think,” the former Boston Celtic replied, “they appreciate maybe more. And they apologize more.”
Laughter was heard from Farideh and their guest, rapper Guapdad4000 after Pierce’s response. To hear him tell it, white women don’t mind being held accountable.
Farideh, who confirmed her ethnic background consisting of her Persian mother and Black father, defended Pierce saying he could not be sure if his theory is correct “because he dates Black women, period. So do not come for him, period.”
She made a point to say this same statement before in the episode multiple times. Guapdad4000 confirms that he exclusively dates Black women. Earlier in the game, he shared that he has his eyes set on singers SZA and Tems.
In reference to Pierce, Farideh said, “That’s all he dates too. He’s never dated a non-Black woman and you’ve never dated a non-Black woman. I think that’s so powerful.”
I think dated that’s true. But that could be like changing, maybe, I don’t know,” Pierce stated after cutting into the conversation.

From there, Farideh went back to July 2024 to reveal the backlash she got when she asked “Stomp the Yard” alum Columbus Short the same question on “The Unqualified As F**k Podcast.”
“There’s no respect of the man, the Black man, by a Black woman,” Short said at the time while comparing Black women to women of other ethnicities. “That Mexican side, that Asian—Korean, Japanese—that other side… Culturally, those women were taught to hold down. It’s more than subservient. Don’t get it twisted; they’ll cuss a man out thoroughly, but you’re still making dinner, you’re still washing his clothes, you’re still cleaning the house.”
Realizing he may have hit a sore spot, the former “Scandal” star did damage control to emphasize that he was not referring to all Black women.
Although Pierce’s comments have gone viral, it’s unclear why it’s striking a nerve just now. Nevertheless, the former athlete’s stance has generated talk on multiple outlets on social media. After Spiritual World reposted the clip on Instagram.
One woman in the comments wrote, “Regardless of color, stop comparing the attitude of a woman that you’re treating good to a woman that you treated poorly,” one woman voiced on in the comments, while another person summed up her stance, saying “Y’all just want a doormat NEXT.”

Pierce may have been the source of the outrage, but one user couldn’t resist bringing Shannon Sharpe and his current legal troubles into the mix.
“They also sue you for $50M when things don’t go their way…but go off tho,” the user said.
Sharpe is at the center of a lawsuit involving a a white woman in her early 20s who had sexual relations with him for years. In April, the woman accused the 56-year-old “Club Shay Shay” host of rape. She is suing Sharpe for $50 million.
In addition, the NFL icon iis facing another case, this one from his ex Michele Bundy Evans. Evans, who claims she and Sharpe dated for around a decade, filed a lawsuit for defamation in 2023.
