*ALLBLK, AMC Networks’ streaming platform dedicated to Black television and film, has unveiled the trailer and key art for its original feature film “Operation: Aunties,” set to debut exclusively on July 11.
Directed by Emmy Award-winning actress Wendy Raquel Robinson, this dynamic cyber-crime dramedy stars Melissa De Sousa, Tisha Campbell, Amiyah Scott, and Kaye Singleton in a story of justice and empowerment.
The film centers on Dr. Carol Cleavers (De Sousa), a blockchain expert and professor whose family is shaken by an attempted trafficking incident. When she uncovers a sinister trafficking ring operating through a rideshare app on the dark web, Carol finds the authorities slow to act. Determined to fight back, she enlists her fearless best friend, retired detective Sharon O’Hara (Tisha Campbell), and her tech-savvy niece Aminah (Amiyah Scott). The trio transforms into cyber-vigilantes, taking on the criminals to protect women and seek justice. The cast also features Kaye Singleton, Maurice “Thor” Johnson, Matt Medrano, and Drea Kelly.
