*Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian has encouraged Zendaya to compete in the 2025 Athlos events.
While Zendaya is best known for her acting career, the suggestion comes after her acclaimed role in “Challengers,” a film about professional tennis.
“First step is getting Zendaya to ATHLOS 2025… @zoe__hobbs I gotchu,” Ohanian posted, in response to sprinter Zoe Hobbs calling for the actress to get involved in the event.
Entering its second year, Athlos is a professional, female-only track and field series founded by Ohanian, the husband of tennis champion Serena Williams. The inaugural event took place on September 26, 2024, at Icahn Stadium in New York City, aiming to bring greater visibility to women’s track and field beyond the Olympic stage.
Per Wikipedia, it was initially announced in April 2024 under the name 776 Invitational. Athlos was inspired by the success of Angel City FC and the need for more regular, high-profile competitions in women’s track and field. Athlos 2024 featured only six races: the 100m, 100m hurdles, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m. A total of 36 elite athletes competed, including Gabby Thomas, Alexis Holmes, and Faith Kipyegon. The competition offered significant prize money, with first-place finishers earning $60,000, while sixth place still secured a $2,500 payout.

While the debut received positive reviews from athletes and was praised for its entertainment value, its long-term success remains uncertain. The event’s future depends on continued fan engagement and support. Pulling Zendaya for Athlos could significantly boost the visibility of the event, attract more fans, and potentially draw in a broader, more diverse audience.
Meanwhile, HBO confirmed that Zendaya is set to return for season three of “Euphoria,” which is also bringing in several new cast members as production resumes after a nearly three-year hiatus.
Per THR, among the new additions are NFL star-turned-actor Marshawn Lynch, Grammy winner Rosalia, Kadeem Hardison, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Toby Wallace. Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Wallace will be regulars, while the others will have guest roles.
Returning cast members include Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, and Sydney Sweeney. Colman Domingo will return as a guest star, and Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry have been promoted to regulars. However, Storm Reid, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, and Algee Smith will not return for season three.
