*Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios have released the official trailer for their live-action adaptation of the classic 80’s franchise, “Masters of the Universe.” The film will debut in U.S. theaters on June 5, 2026, with Sony Pictures International Releasing handling international distribution later in the month.
Fans eager to explore Eternia ahead of the release can now experience Mattel’s “Become Eternian” digital feature. By taking a selfie and completing a short quiz, users can discover whether their alter-ego is a heroic guardian of Castle Grayskull or a villain plotting from Snake Mountain. The experience also offers customizable merchandise, from mugs to t-shirts, allowing fans to bring their new character to life.
Masters of the Universe delivers high-stakes action, breathtaking visuals, and a story of heroic transformation. The film follows Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) as he returns to Eternia after a 15-year separation, only to find his world under the tyrannical rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To reclaim his home, Adam must embrace his destiny as He-Man, joining forces with Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba).
Director Travis Knight brings the franchise’s rich legacy to life on the big screen, combining epic action sequences with visual effects designed to thrill both longtime fans and newcomers. The ensemble cast also includes Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Charlotte Riley, and Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto.
