*Rapper Eminem introduced former President Barack Obama at a Detroit rally for Kamala Harris on Oct. 22, and when Obama hit the stage, he recited Em’s “Lose Yourself”– watch clips below.
“I’m here tonight for a couple of important reasons. As most of you know, the city of Detroit and the whole state of Michigan mean a lot to me,” the rapper said. “And going into this election, the spotlight is on us more than ever, and I think it’s important to use your voice, so I’m encouraging everybody to get out and vote, please.
The Detroit native continued: “I also think that people shouldn’t be afraid to express their opinions, and I don’t think anyone wants an America where people are worried about retribution, or what people will do if you make your opinion known. I think Vice President Harris supports a future for this country where these freedoms and many others will be protected and upheld. And here to tell you much more about that, President Barack Obama.”
Obama then walked onstage to Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’, and rapped the first verse of the track as the crowd cheered.
Per the New York Post, Obama’s performance got mixed reviews on social media.

“Obama, trying to rap is probably the most cringe thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Nothing was funny about it. Nothing was charming. Nothing was charisma. There is NOTHING there . It was bland. Nothing was there,” one person reacted.
“Obama rapping but it’s over the Eminem beat,” wrote another.
One X user commented, “This is the swaggiest president EVER! And he just gets better with time / age.”
Another added, “This is why Trump hates Obama so much. He’s cool af.”
A third wrote, “He sounds like a dorky white guy who’s trying to rap, but shouldn’to.”
