*Moviefone, the iconic brand once synonymous with movie times and that unforgettable phone voice, is stepping into the future. As it celebrates its 35th anniversary, and five years under the leadership of Emmy-nominated producer Cleveland O’Neal III, Moviefone is launching Moviefone TV, a new weekly broadcast series, and relaunching its mobile app to meet the needs of modern entertainment fans.
According to the news release, the new weekly TV show, premiering this fall in major U.S. markets, brings the Moviefone experience to a new platform, featuring exclusive interviews, entertainment news, and recommendations for movies and streaming series. “Moviefone TV” follows in the footsteps of O’Neal’s Emmy-nominated franchise Made in Hollywood, now in its 20th season.
The company is also unveiling a newly designed Moviefone app, rolling out in private beta this May and launching publicly this summer. The app offers users a powerful tool to “find it. watch it.” — simplifying the often overwhelming process of choosing what to watch across theaters, streaming, and on-demand platforms.
“While Gen Xers and older Millennials know Moviefone from that voice, the Seinfeld episode and famous phone number, today’s Moviefone is digital-first and forward-looking,” said O’Neal. “Our average user is now 31 years old, and approximately 80% of our digital audience is between 18–44, with a strong male skew.”
Under O’Neal’s leadership, Moviefone has experienced a digital resurgence, with a 700% increase in its audience and hundreds of hours of original content, including celebrity interviews. The brand continues to connect with film fans through Screenvision Media’s Front + Center pre-show in 14,000 theaters nationwide and across digital and social platforms.
