*A troubling incident took place at Miami International Airport on Tuesday when 23-year-old Alvina Omisiri Agba, a woman from England, was taken into custody after allegedly attempting to take a 4-year-old boy from his mother at a security checkpoint.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office stated that Agba has been charged with interference with custody and two counts of battery, according to a report by Fox News. Authorities say the situation intensified when Agba allegedly refused to return the child, claiming he was her own.
The incident reportedly began when Agba approached a woman whose young son was crying and offered to help calm him. After picking up the boy, she is said to have walked away from the mother and moved out of the line. When the mother confronted her and demanded her child back, Agba allegedly responded by saying, “No, this is my child,” according to deputies.

Agba’s actions grew more aggressive as she wrapped her arms and legs around the boy, preventing his movement, the report states. When the mother attempted to intervene, Agba allegedly pushed her and grabbed the child’s leg, refusing to release him. The confrontation prompted a bystander to step in.
Naylet Montano, a witness, intervened by taking the child to safety behind a counter, according to the sheriff’s report. As Agba pursued, shouting to “give back her child,” three men blocked her path, preventing further attempts to take the boy. Agba then fled the scene but was later apprehended at another airport checkpoint.
After being taken into custody, Agba told deputies that she was drawn to a rainbow-colored wall, believing it would help calm the boy. She admitted remembering the mother’s attempt to get her child back, but claimed she couldn’t recall what happened afterward. Agba also stated that she acted because “God told her to do it.”
Investigators later confirmed that Agba was sober at the time of the incident and was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
