*The last Mazda CX-70 I test drove was a 2025 PHEV, which was great for its looks, smooth ride and yummy tech. The 2026 Mazda CX-70 Turbo S Premium Plus is definitely a couple steps up, giving a couple of tech upgrades, and that reliable luxe look Mazda keeps delivering. Let’s get into it.
The Look: The Turbo S Premium Plus shows up with a quiet luxury with a unique color pallet offering, giving us that signature Mazda gloss black grille, and adaptive LED headlights that elevate this mid-sized SUV. Inside this 5-seater, big-bodied baddie, she is still giving comfort and elegance. Rocking Nappa leather seats, soft touches where it matters, and subtle ambient lighting create an ideal cabin for long rides and girls nights.
The Drive: Smooth and powerful drive. The 3.3-liter Inline turbo engine operates optimally, accelerating quickly but smoothly. And guess what! She’s got a mild hybrid assist to help conserve fuel and bring up efficiency. This vehicle is averaging 25-mpg. I also found the safety features to be gentle and natural. My auntie, though, who drives a Cadillac, complained she could feel everything on the road. Myself, and others in the car didn’t seem to have that reaction. The drive was smooth, easy and comfortable.
The Tech: With the 12.3-inch center display didn’t change much, but for some reason (maybe it was the luxe feel inside) felt a little more refined. Perhaps the font changed?

Or the placement was a bit different. Overall, though the display worked well in this vehicle and of course drivers can wirelessly connect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
One of my favorite new features in this design is the heads-up display which features driving directions from Apple CarPlay.
I haven’t seen this in previous models (maybe I missed it) but it definitely made a huge difference and was one of the features I’ve been hoping someone would add soon.
Overall, the 2026 Mazda CX-70 Turbo S Premium Plus is a great ride, perfect for families and girls nights, daily use and weekend trips. Its spacious interior makes for a comfortable experience for everyone and with the tech options, it’s an easy option for drivers.
