*Liza Koshy, known for her rise from a Vine and YouTube sensation to a Hollywood actress, recently worked with Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson in the 2025 reboot of “The Naked Gun” from Paramount Pictures.
In the film, which hit theaters this past weekend, Koshy plays Detective Barnes, a rookie in a chaotic precinct filled with slapstick humor.
She expressed deep admiration for her co-stars, calling it a dream to share the screen with Neeson and Anderson, whose comedic styles align with her roots in physical comedy and wordplay.
Koshy sat down with EURweb associate Kenny Pettis Jr. to share her experience.

Kenny Pettis Jr.: “You’ve done a lot of wild characters on YouTube, but how does stepping into the world of ‘The Naked Gun’ push your comedy to a whole new level?
Liza Koshy: “Ooh. I mean, I love playing big, broad, silly characters and I fully thought this was a comedy.
“However, it’s not supposed to be played as a comedy. I mean, you’re never really supposed to play the comedy. You’re supposed to let the jokes fly, but yeah.
Uh, when I stepped into, uh, the scene with the Kiva Chafer, our director, and my idol, who was a part of the lonely island and a part of my comedic foundation.
“I love that man, Uhhuh. Um, I, uh, I was told, Hey, you’re acting like this is a comedy. And I said, yeah, you’re welcome. He said, no, I need you to deliver it straight, deadly, right? Like you’re a real detective. Um, so I was super jealous of Liam Neeson for being able to tap into the comedy and the physical fights of it all. It’s a really brilliantly dumb movie.”
KP Jr.: And speaking of Liam, you know that the film has a lot of big personalities. Was there anyone in particular who really stood out to you, who made you laugh on camera or maybe behind the scenes, maybe somebody unexpected you didn’t think was that funny?
LK: “Honestly, Liam, I mean, this man has my heart and he has seven hands all over his body and there’s enough of him to go around. Truly. He is so generous with his time and his energy and like I just got to hang out in his trailer and we just chopped it up about Ireland and India and like Oh wow. Yeah.
“Chopped it up about the motherland, like it was, it was such a good time with him on set, and I was really only on set for four days. Mm-hmm. And he was tapped in for like. 40 plus. Nice. So it was a lovely time. He pranked me on set with his assistant. I thought he was getting into a fight with her. I, all of a sudden I saw her head swinging straight into his trailer and I was like, what is hap?
“Then I saw them crack a little bit and I was like, dang, you are a good actor. That was good. Yeah. They got you, huh? Stunt woman. She’s a stunt woman training beneath him, so it’s, it’s, it’s hilarious how he’s willing to be so silly when we know him as. One of the most dramatic actors of our time.”

KP Jr.: “Now, if you had the chance to cast an all female ensemble in a comedy spoof film, which actresses are you choosing?”
LK: “I just wanna be in the one of them day sequel with Cisa and Kiki and throw in like, uh, uh, broad City girlies, uh, Abby. I would love to throw in. Oh, man. Oh man. There’s that Quinta say Issa Quinta.
“Quinta. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Like, uh, there’s, there’s something there. Yeah. Everybody and Ali Wong like, oh, that would be fun. I want the cast to look like a Skittles bag of this, this diverse, funny, female LED cast. Yes, please. I want that.”
KP Jr.” Last question. Pamela Anderson, who you got a chance to work with. Such an iconic presence. What was your first reaction to finding out that you’d be working with her and what was your first, uh, interaction with her maybe on set? How was that?”
LK: “Oh, I was absolutely stoked and honored to work with her. She’s such an icon and she is, and, and by icon I mean she is a woman in Hollywood who has fully embraced her story and although, you know, at times may have worked against her, she’s worked herself to rise up and, and be the strong, brilliant, resilient woman that she is. And to be a woman in this industry or any industry is tough. And you gotta have your, uh, support system and your community there to amplify you and lift you up. And she has that with the children that she raised. So it’s incredible to see her, uh, be such a beautiful mother to two loving sons that support her as well as the mother of our culture. Yeah, she is truly so kind and lovely. And yeah, I, I ripped pages out of her book of life”
