*The Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown LA set the stage for a festive serenade by Leslie Odom, Jr. as he ushered in the holiday season with his aptly titled ‘The Christmas Tour‘ show.
Leslie’s velvet voice and perfect tone evoked scintillating holiday classics for a packed house on the first day of December. Every song was an auditory feast to behold.
His mere essence was reminiscent of the greats such as Sam Cook, Nat King Cole, and Johnny Mathis.
Odom treated the audience to a surprise appearance by his fiercely talented and beautiful wife Nicolette Robinson. Their young daughter twirled into an a-la-carte ballet number while mommy and daddy sang a glorious duet.
Steven Walker is the music director and guitarist. He, along with Christopher Cadenhead on piano, David Chiverton on drums, and Eric England on bass, provided the perfect accompaniment. Kudos are also in order for front house audio tech Jordan Purvis, lighting director Johathan Marius, and road manager Roberto Lara.

After two encores, Leslie obliged the audience with a titillating rendition of Theodosia from the Tony Award-winning Broadway sensation “Hamilton.”
LA Philharmonic (LA Phil) is under the musical and artistic direction of Gustavo Dudamel. LA Phil is a premiere destination for live classical music with an ample representation of other genres as well.
