*Keke Palmer is embracing a fresh chapter with a dramatic hair transformation just before her 32nd birthday on August 26.
The actress swapped her long locks for a chic pixie cut, showcasing her new look on Instagram. Palmer wrote, “My birthday is just around the corner… ♍️?,” alongside selfies snapped in her car and at home.
The choppy pixie, complete with short bangs and tapered sides, marks Palmer’s shortest style in years. As Page Six reports, fans flooded her comments with praise. “Ummmnn I love the cut sissy ?????,” one wrote. Another gushed, “When I say the hair GIVESSSSS,” while a third added, “Girlllllll ? Now y’all wanna make me go cut my hair ??.”
Palmer’s love for her ginger-copper color shines just as brightly. At the 2025 Essence Fest in New Orleans last month, she spoke to People about her bold hair choice.
“Having red hair is way more fun. It’s funny because I was red before, but I don’t think that the color was giving what it’s giving now,” she said. “This ginger copper, … I’m living my best life and I’m never going back. I need everybody to know I’m never going back. Legitimately.”

She also reflected on the unique appeal of the shade. “I don’t know why Tyra [Banks] went back. It works with the eyes, it works with everything. It’s really, really good. It’s so crazy how it’s like there’s not really many Black redheads, but for whatever reason it looks good on our skin,” Palmer told the outlet.
Meanwhile, you can catch Palmer in the upcoming comedy “Good Fortune,” from director Aziz Ansari, set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and in theaters nationwide on October 17.
The film stars Keanu Reeves as Gabriel, a well-intentioned but clumsy guardian angel, alongside Ansari as Arj, a struggling gig worker, and Seth Rogen as a wealthy venture capitalist. The story follows Gabriel’s humorous attempts to transform the lives of these two contrasting characters through divine intervention. The ensemble cast also features Sandra Oh, Sherry Cola, and Stephen McKinley Henderson.
