*Keke Palmer says she doesn’t have the confidence to do nude scenes on screen.
“Just because I’m so shy and, you know, embarrassed,” Palmer told The Independent about why she’s “always been reluctant to do nudity” in movies or television shows.
“And to know that people are going to be able to have [those scenes] forever? I could never have the confidence to do something like that! I’m not that bold.”
Palmer told PEOPLE that her journey of self-love had come full circle after the birth of her son, Leodis.
“You’re always trying to figure out what you can do better, how you can be better for the child, and loving yourself to me is No. 1,” Palmer shared with the outlet on Feb. 26, at Vanity Fair and Instagram’s annual Vanities party.

“I attribute it to self-love, which has been ignited even more so by my son,” she said. “You know, when you have a kid, you’re always trying to figure out what you can do better, how you can be better for the child, and loving yourself to me is No. 1,” the actress/singer explained.
“I feel like I’ve been pouring so much more into myself so that I can be the best mom to him. And it has made my life even more fulfilling, to be honest with you,” she added.
“On a deep level, I think I’ve always been the kind of person that’s felt very lonely or had these big emotions,” she explained in her conversation with The Independent. “And I always say that people who are considered comedians, or people that make people laugh, they’re not necessarily seen as serious. Usually, though, they’re the ones with the deepest feelings of all, and it’s that humor that’s helping them get through.”
Palmer added, “When I’m overwhelmed or worried about what I’m going to do, I just focus on what’s in front of me, do it to the best of my ability, and then move on from there.”
