*In the age of information overload, even high-profile figures like Jeff Bezos are not immune to speculation. The founder of Amazon and current CEO of Blue Origin has taken to social media to refute claims of a grand wedding with his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, scheduled for just after Christmas.
In a post shared on Sunday, December 22, the 60-year-old billionaire declared the rumors regarding a lavish ceremony in Aspen, Colorado, to be “completely false.”
The rumors began when a report from The Daily Mail was picked up by The New York Post, which suggested that Bezos and Sánchez were planning an extravagant wedding estimated at a staggering $600 million.
Notably, CEO of Pershing Square, Bill Ackman, commented on the report, questioning the credibility of such a claim, implying that buying each guest a house would be more plausible. Bezos, responding to Ackman’s post on X (formerly Twitter), reiterated his denial, emphasizing that “none of this is happening.”
“The old adage ‘don’t believe everything you read’ is even more true today than it ever has been,” Bezos cautioned, highlighting the rapid spread of misinformation in today’s digital landscape. He remarked that “lies can get ALL the way around the world before the truth can get its pants on,” encouraging his followers to be discerning about the information they consume.

Bezos also lambasted the media outlets that perpetuated these rumors, expressing curiosity about whether they would issue corrections once the purported wedding fails to materialize.
Since confirming their relationship in January 2019 and their engagement in May 2023, Bezos and Sánchez have been spotted together frequently, sharing cherished moments that speak of their happiness and love. An insider previously revealed that the engagement ring was “beyond stunning” and reportedly captured Sánchez’s attention as she frequently admired it.
The couple has children from previous relationships: Bezos shares four children—three sons and one daughter—with ex-wife MacKenzie Scott, while Sánchez has a son, Nikko, with ex-football star Tony Gonzalez, and two children, Evan and Ella, with her ex-husband Patrick Whitesell.
In a recent appearance on the Today show, Sánchez shared her excitement for their upcoming nuptials, citing her Pinterest board to pull inspiration for the wedding, a demonstration of the shared joy of planning ahead—the only part that seems to remain untouched by the swirling rumors.
As rumors continue to circulate, one thing is clear: both Bezos and Sánchez are keen to ensure that their love story unfolds on their terms, independent of speculation and sensationalism. In a world where headlines often dominate the story, Jeff Bezos’s firm denial serves as a reminder of the importance of authenticity amidst the noise.
