*AMC and AMC+ have unveiled the official trailer for this year’s “FearFest,” with Janelle Monáe stepping into the spotlight as host. Check it out above.
The annual horror and genre programming event will feature more than 650 hours of films, series, and specials, backed by key sponsors including BACARDÍ Rum and Kraft Heinz, according to the news release.

The trailer, titled “Carnival of Frights,” was directed by Alan Ferguson, a longtime collaborator of Monáe. It reimagines a classic carnival atmosphere with a modern twist, reflecting what AMC describes as Monáe’s “artful, stylish, over-the-top” approach to horror. The preview also highlights nods to legendary icons, from Freddy Krueger’s clawed glove to Michael Myers’ infamous knife.
“FearFest” continues its tradition of securing high-profile sponsorships, with BACARDÍ Rum serving as the title sponsor. The brand will be featured in custom content, immersive experiences, and Monáe’s Wondaween celebration, where the signature BACARDÍ Rave Yard Mojito will be served. In addition, fans can stream “FearFest Favorites by Janelle Monáe,” a curated collection of her personal horror picks on AMC+.
Kraft Heinz is also expanding its presence during the event with a spotlight on Velveeta. The sponsorship will appear in original content across multiple platforms and will be tied to the “Best of FearFest” collection on AMC+.
This year’s lineup includes classics and franchises such as “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” “Halloween,” “Friday the 13th,” “Final Destination,” and multiple Stephen King adaptations, including “It” (2017), “It” the mini-series, “The Shining,” and “Misery.” Anniversaries for “The Shining” (45 years) and “Misery” (35 years) will be marked as part of the programming.
Viewers can also expect new episodes of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon,” the debut of “Talamasca: The Secret Order” from the Anne Rice universe, and themed specials including “The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs: FearFest,” featuring screenings of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Freddy vs. Jason.”
