*Halle Berry is opening up about her approach to intimacy, revealing that she no longer fakes orgasms.
On the Sex With Emily podcast, the Oscar-winning actress said, “I don’t do that anymore,” emphasizing the importance of shared pleasure in her relationships, E! News reports.
Reflecting on past experiences, Berry admitted she sometimes pretended to be satisfied to make her partner feel good. “We had to say that we did it so that he would feel good about himself. Because what is that doing? That’s putting his needs before our own,” she explained.

The “Crime 101” star emphasized that intimacy should be a mutual experience: “I’m like, ‘No, I come first like you come first to you.’ We both deserve to have this be a mutually enjoyable experience, so we both can roll over and go to sleep because we feel good—not one snoring and the other one looking at the ceiling, going, ‘What the hell?'”
Berry, 59, currently shares a passionate relationship with musician Van Hunt, whom she met in 2020. Berry and Hunt officially confirmed their engagement on February 5. The couple has kept their relationship largely private during nearly six years together, and this announcement marks Berry’s fourth engagement, potentially leading to a fourth marriage.
She was previously married to David Justice, Eric Benét, and Olivier Martinez. Berry said she feels Hunt is “the person I should have married.” The Hollywood icon has two children: daughter Nahla, 17, with ex Gabriel Aubry, and son Maceo-Robert, 12, with Martinez.
After navigating multiple high-profile relationships, Berry said she made a deliberate decision to step away from dating and focus on herself. That period of reflection, she explained, ultimately changed how she viewed her worth and approach to love.
“I was solo and celibate for four years,” Berry told The Times. “I had to really sit myself down and be alone and grow and reflect and realize my value.” During that stretch, Berry said she confronted the possibility that a romantic partner might not return to her life and found peace in that outcome.
“I had decided if the right person doesn’t come, I will be alone. And that’s OK,” she said. “I’m enough by myself. I’ve got my children. I have my career. That’s more than enough. I have an embarrassment of riches.”
