*Halle Bailey is speaking out about why she kept her pregnancy private.
The singer and star of “The Little Mermaid” welcomed her first child earlier this month, a baby boy named Halo, with her boyfriend, rapper DDG. Bailey kept a low profile during her pregnancy and remained coy when fans pressed her on social media about pregnancy rumors.
Bailey recently hosted a Q&A on Snapchat, and one fan asked, “Was the [sic] blogs and cameras stressful while pregnant?”
As Complex reports, Bailey replied, “So this is a good question. I mean, a little bit, but honestly I stayed off of all social media. I really tried to, just to keep myself sane and okay.”
She continued, “I know that there was a lot of people who would always, like, comment and be like, ‘We know, girl, we know.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, that’s great that you know. But I’m gonna just chill, you know, and that’s wonderful if you support me, and if not, that’s okay too. I hope you have a wonderful life.”

Bailey previously posted a photo showcasing her newborn son’s hand wearing a gold bracelet with his name, “Halo,” engraved on it.
Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son,” Bailey captioned the image. “Welcome to the world my halo,” she wrote. “The world is desperate to know you.”
