*Walt Disney Animation Studios has released the first teaser for “Zootopia 2,” the follow‑up to its 2016 Oscar‑winning smash.
The minute‑long preview reintroduces Officer Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and her sly partner Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) before unveiling their newest ally, or possible adversary: Gary De’Snake, a smooth‑talking pit viper voiced by Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan.
In the sequel, arriving exclusively in theaters on Nov. 26, 2025, Gary’s arrival sets off chaos across the mammal metropolis, forcing Judy and Nick to go undercover in corners of the city audiences have never seen, per the news release.
“We are beyond excited to welcome everyone back to the outrageous, expansive animal metropolis of Zootopia, and take audiences on a hilarious, wild ride into parts of the city we’ve never visited before,” said returning director and co‑writer Jared Bush. He hinted at new settings ranging from marshy wetlands to rolling desert dunes, and “even greater mysteries beyond.”

Director Byron Howard revealed that the teaser’s pulsing soundtrack comes from an in‑universe techno quartet: “The trailer features the original song ‘ZUTU’ by Zootopia’s finest lemming techno group, LEMEEENS. Fresh from touring with superstar Gazelle as her opening act, members Hans-Peter, Gūnther, Spielt and their DJ, Spaß, created the song to mark the occasion and welcome the world back to the City of Zootopia!”
Goodwin and Bateman reprise their roles alongside Quan. Shakira returns as superstar Gazelle, with additional voice talent from Fortune Feimster and Quinta Brunson. The film is spearheaded by the Oscar‑winning trio of Bush and Howard (directors) and producer Yvett Merino, the team behind the original “Zootopia.”
Fans can catch the teaser above and on Disney’s official channels and start the countdown to Thanksgiving weekend 2025, when “Zootopia 2″ slithers into cinemas.
